About

Philosophy

I am a student of Eastern philosophical systems and psychology. The images and installations that I create reflect that study and contemplation. In mind, which moves about quickly, a moment of understanding is a precious experience. . .especially when it is quickly replaced by another moment which may carry doubt or confusion.

These pieces are momentary experiential responses to questions like “What is my mind?” “How does it work?” “What am I?” “Where does my self begin and where does it end?” “What is the world that I experience and how ‘real’ is it?

In contemplating these questions, images sometimes flash in my mind as partial responses. . .maybe on the meditation cushion, but more often off of it,  somewhere within daily life. They arrive as some sort of clue to me. As a poet responds to experience in words, I respond with images.
